The Brashear/Novinger baseball squad was in Newtown Friday to face the Grundy County/Newtown-Harris team. Brashear scored a run in the 1st and 2 more in the 3rd to take a 3-0 lead. After scoring again in the 4th, Grundy scored 3 in the bottom of the frame to pull within one at 4-3. Brashear scored one more time in the 6th to claim a 5-3 victory. Koenn Stewert and Cole Erwin had 2 hits each, with Drew Magruder, Bailyn Halley, Quincy Chapman, and Jacob Love also having hits. Bailyn Halley went 4 innings striking out 6 with Drew Maguder pitching 3 innings of relief with 4 strikeouts.
